Arthur Scargill

This left wing piece of scum misused his position as head of the NUM to ferment politically movitated strikes culminating in the fall of the Heath government in March 1974.

Convinced that if he could bring down one government, it would work again, he tried the same trick with Margaret Thatcher and came unstuck big time in 1985 when the members got wise to him and went off to form their own alternative union.

Never one to be stepping out of the limelight, Scargill formed the Socialist Labour Party in 1996, accusing the Labour Party of abandoning its principals - not that it ever had many in the first place. The electorate was not impressed.

His criticism of Poland's Solidarity union for its promotion of workers rights at the expense of international communism tells you all you need to know about his true political allegiances.

For treasonous acts against the state and for shameless abuse of power, Scargill should never be forgiven.
